BuckBook Terms of Service

Effective date: October 9, 2026

These terms govern the BuckBook Android application and related app support provided by Zajabuk, a developer based in Michigan, USA ("Zajabuk," "we," or "us"). Contact contact@zajabuk.com with questions. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.

Important: keep independent backups. BuckBook is a photo-organizing and field-journal tool, not a guaranteed archive or disaster-recovery service. Photos, profiles, notes, and backups can be lost or corrupted. Keep original photos and verified backups outside the app and off your phone. Sections 4, 8, and 9 explain data-loss risks, warranty disclaimers, and limits on liability. These terms do not take away rights that applicable law does not allow you to waive.

1. Agreement and eligibility

These terms apply when you accept them through an agreement control or another legally valid acceptance process that gives you notice of them. If you do not agree, do not accept or use the app under these terms. Merely viewing this webpage does not create an agreement. You must have the legal capacity to enter this agreement; a minor may use BuckBook only with a parent or guardian’s permission and supervision where permitted by law. BuckBook is not intended for children under 13.

2. Your license and permitted use

Subject to these terms and any applicable purchase terms, Zajabuk grants you a limited, nonexclusive license to install and use BuckBook on compatible devices you own or control for lawful purposes. The app is licensed, not sold. We retain ownership of the software, branding, and other app materials; you retain your rights in your photos, notes, and other content.

Do not resell or distribute the app without authorization, bypass purchase or security controls, interfere with services, or use another person’s camera account without permission. Do not copy, modify, or reverse engineer the software except where applicable law or an applicable open-source license permits it. These restrictions do not override lawful app-store sharing rights or third-party license terms. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to import, access, and share your content.

3. Purchases, subscriptions, and refunds

BuckBook is currently in development. If we offer paid access, the relevant listing or checkout will disclose the price, included features, payment type, and any applicable taxes before you authorize payment. Future-feature descriptions are not a promise that an unreleased feature will be delivered. A one-time purchase does not become a subscription without your agreement.

If a subscription is offered, its billing interval, renewal price, trial terms, and cancellation method will be disclosed before purchase. Manage or cancel it through the store or billing provider used for the purchase. Uninstalling the app does not itself cancel a subscription. Price or renewal changes will follow applicable law and store requirements.

Refunds and cancellations are subject to the purchase terms, applicable store policies, and your legal rights. For Google Play purchases, see Google Play’s refund policy. You can also contact us with your order reference for assistance; do not send full payment-card details. Nothing here excludes a refund, repair, replacement, or other remedy required by law or the applicable store. Separate camera plans, connectivity, and third-party charges are not included unless the listing expressly says so.

4. Your data and backup responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining and checking independent copies of data you want to keep. The current app stores its journal on your device and does not automatically upload it to a Zajabuk recovery server. Syncing from a camera provider is not a backup of your BuckBook profiles or notes. We may have no copy from which to recover lost data.

Loss or corruption can result from app defects, updates, interrupted syncs or restores, device loss or failure, insufficient storage, permission changes, accidental deletion, incompatible files, or third-party outages. Back up before updating, restoring, changing devices, or clearing app storage. Confirm that exported files contain the expected data and that you can restore them. Do not rely on BuckBook as your only copy of important or irreplaceable information.

In the current app, backup archives include profiles and assigned photos with associated metadata. They exclude unreviewed photos, camera passwords, and sync settings. ZIP backups are not encrypted by BuckBook; protect their destination and access. Scheduled backups depend on your settings, available storage, Android background behavior, and folder permissions. Retention settings can remove older backups. A backup kept only on the same phone does not protect against loss of that phone. No backup, export, sync, or recovery feature guarantees complete or successful preservation or restoration.

Deleting a photo removes its local image while retaining a local record to prevent another download by default. You can permit deleted photos to download again by enabling the corresponding option in Settings. This does not guarantee recovery: the original must still be available from its source. Clearing app storage or uninstalling can erase the local journal. Exported backups and shared copies must be managed separately. Local deletion does not delete a camera provider’s original. See the Privacy Policy for additional details.

5. Camera connections and independent services

Features may rely on Stealth Cam, Tactacam Reveal, Open-Meteo, Google components, Android document providers, and other independent services. You must be authorized to access connected accounts and comply with their terms. BuckBook is not sponsored by or affiliated with a camera provider unless expressly stated; third-party names belong to their owners.

Providers may change their interfaces, permissions, prices, limits, or availability. This may delay or prevent logins, downloads, weather requests, or other integrations. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, complete photo imports, compatibility with every device or camera, or continued availability of a third-party integration. These statements do not remove our responsibility for express commitments or remedies that applicable law requires.

6. Weather, wildlife, and outdoor decisions

Dates, locations, recognized timestamps, deer profiles, weather information, and activity summaries can be incomplete or inaccurate. Verify important information against the original source. Observed patterns are not predictions or guarantees of deer movement, hunting success, or safe conditions.

BuckBook is not an emergency, navigation, safety, or professional wildlife-management service. Use independent judgment, official weather and safety information, and appropriate equipment. You are responsible for land-access permission and compliance with hunting, camera-use, privacy, and other applicable laws. Do not rely on the app for a decision where inaccurate or unavailable information could cause injury or other serious harm.

7. Development releases, updates, and availability

Development and beta releases may contain errors, incomplete features, or incompatible data changes. Keep independent backups and evaluate them before relying on these releases. We may provide updates to improve the app, address security issues, or adapt to platform changes. Supported devices and features may change.

Unless expressly promised in your purchase terms or required by law, a purchase does not guarantee lifetime updates, perpetual online services, or support for every future Android version. If we materially reduce or discontinue paid functionality, we will provide reasonable advance notice where practicable and any remedies required by law or the purchase terms. Urgent security or legal changes may require faster action.

8. Warranty disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BuckBook and related services are provided “as is” and “as available.” Except for express commitments in your purchase terms and rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, Zajabuk disclaims express, implied, and statutory warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and noninfringement.

We do not warrant that the app will always be available, error-free, secure, compatible, or accurate, or that data will be preserved or recoverable. Some jurisdictions do not allow particular warranty exclusions; in those jurisdictions, the affected exclusion applies only to the extent allowed. Nothing in this section overrides mandatory quality standards, consumer guarantees, or our Privacy Policy obligations.

9. Limitation of liability, including lost data

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, and subject to the exceptions below, Zajabuk is not liable for loss, corruption, or inability to access or restore your photos, profiles, notes, backups, or other data, or the costs of recreating or recovering that data, whether those losses are direct or indirect.

To the same extent, Zajabuk is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or lost profits, revenue, business opportunities, or goodwill arising from the app or related services, even if advised that such losses were possible.

For liability that is not excluded and may lawfully be limited, Zajabuk’s total aggregate liability arising from the app or these terms will not exceed the greater of US$100 or the total amount you paid for BuckBook. These limits apply across claims based on contract, negligence, other torts, or another legal theory, to the extent allowed by law.

Exceptions: These exclusions and limits do not apply to fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or any liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited, including applicable nonwaivable consumer remedies and liability for death or personal injury where exclusion is prohibited. They do not restrict your statutory privacy rights or eliminate an obligation to provide a refund or other remedy required by law. If a limitation is unlawful for your claim, it applies only to the extent lawful. The backup provisions do not excuse conduct for which liability cannot legally be limited.

10. Ending use or access

You may stop using BuckBook at any time. Back up data you want to keep before uninstalling; cancel any subscription separately. We may suspend or terminate the license for a material breach, unlawful use, or a serious security risk, with notice and a reasonable opportunity to remedy the issue when appropriate. We will respect applicable purchase terms and legal remedies. Termination does not transfer ownership of your content to us. Provisions that by their nature should survive, including ownership, accrued payment obligations, and lawful liability limits, continue to apply.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms and will revise the effective date. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes through the website, app, or another appropriate channel and obtain renewed agreement where required. Changes apply prospectively; posting revised terms alone does not retroactively alter an existing dispute or purchase. If you do not accept a material change, you may stop using the app and exercise any cancellation or other rights available under law or your purchase terms.

12. Governing law and resolving concerns

Michigan law and applicable United States federal law govern these terms, except that mandatory protections of the place where you live still apply where required. Contact us first if you would like help resolving a problem; doing so is not a condition of exercising legal rights and does not shorten or pause legal deadlines. Disputes may be brought in a court with lawful jurisdiction, including small-claims court when eligible. These terms do not require arbitration or waive class-action rights.

13. General terms and contact

If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective to the extent permitted by law. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These terms and the express purchase terms govern app use; mandatory law and any controlling app-store requirements take priority where they conflict. Applicable open-source licenses govern their components.

Questions about these terms, billing, or a data issue: contact@zajabuk.com. Never send camera passwords. Keep original photos and existing backup files when seeking help with recovery.
